Cavey String Trio
The Cavey String Trio are a unique chamber group, consisting of three sisters. They are extremely close - Natalie and Stephanie are identical twins and Emily is their older sister. They have been playing music together since early childhood.
Winners of numerous 1st prizes in Music Festivals, they were prize winners in Somerset’s Orchard FM music competition 2000. The girls were also awarded scholarships to attend the International Music Festival in Sardinia in the summer of 2003, and the International Summer School at Dartington in 2004. All are now studying with scholarships at the Royal Academy of Music where they have received master classes from professors such as Howard Davies, Aleksander Pavlovic, Jerzy Kosmala, Sigmund Nissal and Thomas Brandis.
The String Trio have performed regularly at weddings and big corporate events, and have raised considerable sums for charity. They successfully auditioned for a licence to play in Covent Garden’s famous market piazza and have performed in many churches and cathedrals around the country, including soloist appearances with symphony orchestras and string groups.
The String Trio attended Pro Corda’s Musical Encounters course this Christmas, where they had coaching under the esteemed Wihan quartet. The instruments used by each of the performers were either donated by admirers or on loan from the Academy.
