Major Swing was formed in 2005 by four friends and musicians united by their love of the music of Django Reinhardt, their debut festival appearance being in the summer of that year in North London.

The band rehearsed and performed regularly on a monday night in South London allowing them to build up a substantial repertoire of standards, folk tunes, walzes, bossanovas and original numbers. Major Swing have developed into a tight, swinging group delighting audiences all over the South East.
