Venue Resources
World Council for Venue Management
The World Council for Venue Management (WCVM) unites a number of major associations worldwide that represent public assembly venue industry professionals and facilities.
Its six current member associations together provide professional resources, forums and benefits for more than 5,000 individuals who manage and operate venue facilities or are otherwise allied with the industry. They further represent 1,200 of the world's stadia, arenas, coliseums, convention/exhibition centres, performing arts centres and conference venues.
Founded in 1997, the WCVM seeks actively to enhance communication and professional development through the exchange of information and technology among member associations and their individual members in order to facilitate wider knowledge and understanding of the public assembly venue industry.
APECC is a non-profit, non-political, international organization.
APECC was founded in November, 1989 by nine Charter Members at the Inaugural Meeting held at the Korea Exhibition Center (KOEX) in Seoul. APECC's goal is to promote the overall business interests of members through close mutual cooperation and to encourage the progress of exhibition and convention industries in the Pacific Rim region.
The First General Assembly was held at the International Exhibition Center in Osaka (INTEX, Osaka) in May, 1990.
APECC currently has membership comprising 30 organisations from 14 countries
AIPC - the International Association of Congress Centres - is the industry association for professional convention and exhibition centre managers world wide. AIPC is committed to encouraging and recognizing excellence in convention centre management, while at the same time providing the tools to achieve such high standards through its research, educational and networking programs.
AIPC occupies a unique position amongst the various organizations that represent the meetings industry. It is a true international organization, with representation from over 49 countries around the world. It focuses specifically on the issues, opportunities and challenges facing convention and exhibition centres. It celebrates and promotes the multicultural dimension of the international meetings industry and the role facilities play in enhancing this. And it maintains close working relations with related industry organizations to ensure members are well connected to overall industry issues
International Association of Assembly Managers
The International Association of Assembly Managers comprises leaders who represent a diverse industry—entertainment, sports, conventions, trade, hospitality and tourism. These leaders manage, or provide products and services to public assembly facilities like arenas, amphitheaters, auditoriums, convention centers/exhibit halls, performing arts venues, stadiums and university complexes.
The Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) Limited was incorporated in 1992 to provide management practitioners of public assembly facilities in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region with their own organisation, dedicated to their professional development and to the growth and success of the venue management industry.
This followed humble beginnings in the early 1980s when a small group of Australia's capital city venue managers would meet occasionally to discuss issues of common interest. As the industry grew, the participation broadened to include colleagues from many different types of venues and in November 1989 the first full conference was held in Melbourne.
Since then the Association has gone from strength to strength. It now has over 620 members, representing over 300 organisations throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, as well as some in the USA, Canada & UK.
