Scottish chanteuse, Chantelle, has been described as “a celtic Eve
Cassidy”. Her love of vocal improvisation has led her down a
soul/funk/jazz route in music and she’s never happier than when on
stage belting out one of her numbers.
Chantelle
uses more of a soul/gospel approach to make her own song. Chantelle
studied jazz & popular music as a graduate diploma at Newcastle
College of Arts & Technology, during which time she sang in working
mens clubs all over the North East.
She won the Blackfriars Young Jazz soloist of the Year title
with her college big band. Chantelles audiences have
included Ralph Fiennes, Lauren Bacall, Liam Neeson, Rod
Stewart and Demi Moore. With Galaxy f.m. DJ and producer,
Wayne C. McDonald, her cover of “One Day I’ll Fly Away”
reached the 3rd spot in the Blues and Soul Chart
in 1994. This was the start of many recordings and
releases she has sung over the years. |

She performs at small festivals, big parties, in intimate restaurants, doing backing vocals and T.V. work
as well as writing and recording her debut album. And the style of
music is anything from jazz to blues to folk.
Her rich and soulful voice means her
versatility makes her hugely in demand. And as ever, she’s a
soul singer at heart. |
