1986 |
Ran a jazz vocal workshop for Jenako
Arts in Islington in addition to
teaching individuals privately. |

1988 |
Taught singing classes and individuals
at Lewisham College for three
years part time. |

1991 |
Secured post of singing teacher at the then brand new
British Record Industry Trust School of Performing Arts and
Technology. Responsible for setting up and running the
BTEC singing option. Currently devoting two days a week. |

1996 |
Began work with students at Southwark College on the
BTEC Performing Arts Course. |
|
1997 |
Invited to join The City Lit
team, taking Rock, Pop, & Soul Singing and now Jazz, Soul &
Blues Singing. |

1999 |
Produced The Sing Thing singing practice CD and set
up the web site
www.thesingthing.com
to support
it and to become a repository for all things
singing. |

2000 |
The Sing Thing 2 ‘A series of more challenging vocal
exercises’ produced. Jazz singing master - classes for
Trinity College of Music juniors and demonstrations of
the standard repertoire at The Royal Academy of Music.
Singers In Control,
workshops in August run by myself and colleague Laura
Zakian designed to empower jazz singers with the skills
to boldly lead a band in a ‘sitting-in’ situation - fully

2001 |
Professorial position at Trinity College of Music
working with degree students; jazz and classical singers.
Goldsmiths College University of London, working with
degree students; jazz voice. |

2002 |
Co-wrote Popular Singing Grades
with Tony Skinner, accredited by The London College of
Music; these grades are ground breaking, being the first
of their kind, launched June 2003 |

2004 |
Currently working on The Sing Thing 3 - Browne on
Breathing, a DVD for release later this year. |
