Motor City Party Band - 5 - 10 piece function/soul  - Motown Band

From Motown to James Brown, Funk to Blues, this International Artiste and his band will Rock your party and get your guest from all ages into the groove of Rhythm and Blues. Having him for your function is an honour by itself as he has shared the stage with BB King. Not many will dispute that he probably has the most awesome voice and stage presence. His Motown function band has grown form strength to strength in the last three years and is very much in demand for weddings and corporate events in London and the rest of the UK including a few high profile events abroad.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan USA, He lived near Hitsville and grew up to Motown grooves. Now settled in the UK, he is a rising star, here and in Europe as a blues artiste but also finds the time to perform for private events with his function band. He opened up at the Royal Albert Hall for BB King and has shared the bill with Walter Trout. His second UK album Walkin' Shoes, has just been released.

			Below are a few samples of Marcus and his function band doing some covers. The function band repertoire includes tributes to the rat pack, blues brothers classic pop and even popular Latin numbers. The function band also performs Jewish Hora music when required.

		Dear Marcus Malone and Motor City Party Band, We are so sorry it has taken us so long to write to you to say thank you very much for the amazing music you provided at our wedding reception on 24 August 2008. I started my new job as a teacher as soon as we got back from our honeymoon and since then it has been non stop work in the evenings and most weekends. We also moved fairly soon after the wedding and, although this was only to the flat next door, the move was quite stressful and took up a lot of our spare time. We had a fabulous time at our reception and we really had a fantastic time on the dance floor, as did many of our guest. The music we had at our wedding was very important to us and our parents, in order that the right atmosphere was created, and we couldn't have imagined the music and dancing to go any better. As soon as the the music stated the dance floor quickly filled up and it remained full all night. We really do feel that you are a truly brilliant band and so many of our friends and family have commented on how amazing you were. 		Dear Marcus, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the Motor City band personally for playing at our Wedding on the 11th October 2008. As a music lover I had previously had nightmares about the quality of wedding entertainment on offer at weddings, especially after attending various others which I felt had been let down by a cheesy disco at the end, playing the usual dire mixture of songs from nasty wedding compilation albums, all I can say is they should have booked the Motor City Party Band because you were fantastic. The first dance of "Something" by George Harrison, although not Motown, was covered with such finesse even my seriously fanatical Beatles fan friend was deeply impressed. Great vocals and a spot on guitar solo were the comments.You judged the mood perfectly throughout the evening, managing to get almost every single guest on the dance floor at some point. I think it speaks volumes for this to range from my 10 year old cousin to my 85 year old grandmother. Everyone was commenting on how wonderful the band was, some people said you were the best band they had ever seen! others said how they would like to book you themselves in the future, so expect some more contacts for sure. Finally I would like to say a special thanks for traveling to play for us, we look forward to booking you again in London either personally or as a recommendation at work. 		Dear Marcus, Re. 19th July in Winchester. Sorry this has been a while in coming forward, we have just returned from a fantastic honeymoon in Fiji and California (and now feel very cold indeed having been in 90+ degrees for the last three weeks!!) We had a great day on the wedding and I wanted to write to thank you for your utmost professionalism and dedication the job in hand -which was making our wedding evening a great night for everyone, and getting people who I've never seen move out of their chairs at weddings previously, up on that dancefloor shakin their thang!! 		Hi Marcus Just back from honeymoon this week. We wanted to write straightaway to thank you for such a fantastic performance at our wedding on 3 February. I know we sent a text from the airport (we couldn't wait to thank you! although, our phones then didn't work abroad) but we really wanted to expand on that and to show our appreciation in full. As you probably gathered, Paul and I quite like to dance! But what thrilled us most, was that our guests didn't leave the dance floor all night! We've been to lots of weddings with live bands in the past, and although they are always the best kind of music, often the dancefloor is sadly empty! But Motor City have that special something. As soon as people walked into the room – young and old – they couldn't stop dancing!! I remember going out of the room briefly and hearing you ask 'is everyone having a good time?!' and hearing a huge roar. As a bride, that is just the best feeling in the world! Our only regret was that we ran over on our meal, giving less time for the party – we wished we could have danced all night! We've had so many compliments I can't tell you. You were definitely the life and soul of the party, but guests have also remarked how amazing it was that every single band member was incredibly talented. It's very unusual to want to watch everybody at once!! You have such an amazing voice and an incredible stage presence. We were so lucky to have you there to make our party go with a bang. 		Hi Marcus, Just got back from the honeymoon. You guys were simply fabulous. I have never heard so much raving about a band. Everyone told me what beautiful voice you have and how much fun it was. Your energy was contagious. I recognised at moments that the dance floor was not as packed as it could have been but fear not - that was in no way a reflection on you guys.
